The ideal candidate will have experience in a marketing and business development role within a professional services firm, preferably in the legal sector.
This position is perfect for a BD Assistant seeking to advance to a Business Development Co-ordinator/Executive role in a Top 50 law firm, where they can contribute to the firm’s growth.
The role provides a balance of project ownership and autonomy while allowing involvement in team initiatives and significant engagement with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
- Business Development Support: Assist in executing business development and growth initiatives across the East Midlands, including Nottingham, Leicester, and Derby offices.
- Market Research: Identify and research target markets and new business opportunities.
- Pipeline Maintenance: Maintain business development pipelines, attend stakeholder meetings with the Executive BD Manager, and produce reports to support business development plans.
- Event Management: Plan, organize, and deliver events, manage delegate lists, greet clients and prospects, and ensure follow-up conversations and post-event activities are maximized.
- Networking: Attend business and networking functions, providing feedback and information on market trends.
- Relationship Development: Support the Executive BD Manager in building relationships with key intermediaries in the local market.
- Client Targeting: Identify and research target clients in existing and emerging sectors, liaising with key stakeholders.
- Opportunity Development: Collaborate with the Executive BD Manager to develop initiatives and opportunities to increase new business across the office, region, and firm.
- Pitch and Proposal Support: Assist in drafting engaging pitches and credential documents by practice area, team, and sector.
- Product and Service Development: Work with key stakeholders to develop and present new products and services to enhance relationships and grow revenue.
- ROI Monitoring: Monitor and measure the return on investment for marketing and business development activities within the office.
- Brand Building: Collaborate with key stakeholders to enhance the overall brand and reputation in the external marketplace.
- Growth Strategy Implementation: Work closely with the senior business development team to implement and drive the firm’s growth strategy.
Your Skills and Qualifications
- Business Marketing Expertise: Possesses a deep understanding of B2B marketing, business development, and relationship management, preferably within a professional services setting.
- Leadership and Initiative: A dynamic and highly motivated team player who can work independently and enjoys taking the lead to advance projects.
- Stakeholder Management: Proven skills in managing key stakeholders, ideally within a professional services environment.
- Business Development Acumen: Demonstrable knowledge of business development, client development, and CRM.
- Relationship Building: Capable of effectively interacting with individuals at all levels within the business.
- Proactive Attitude: Shows initiative and a natural inclination to exceed expectations.
- Strategic and Commercial Thinking: Able to think both strategically and commercially.
- Project Management: Strong operational and project management skills.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, both verbal and written.
